General Summary:
The Director of Data & Intelligence will establish and operationalize our enterprise data intelligence and analytical capabilities to achieve a fully integrated digital information ecosystem. You will set the technical direction of platforms, drive innovation, provide operational leadership, manage solution engineering, lead change management, and be responsible for the central operations of enterprise analytical products / platforms such as an enterprise data lake(s), data warehousing, enterprise analytics / business intelligence, and core data science platforms and services. The Director will manage a multi-disciplinary team of technical and non-technical resources in support of line functions.
You will work closely with executive management, departmental leaders, IT, engineering, product management and other teams to ensure proper organizational alignment. You will also work closely with the MLS community, commercial data providers and select technology vendors to ensure delivery and ongoing support of all required data.
Specifically, in this role, you will focus on delivering products and solutions that support the company?s market intelligence, competitive intelligence, agent productivity, predictive analytics and overall data and information needs.
Your focus will be:
  • Build, manage and maintain the company?s data assets
  • Identify and deliver market insights and intelligence
  • Create data-rich solutions for agents and brokers
  • Enable accurate financial forecasting and prediction
  • Provide competitive intelligence to mitigate risk
Major Responsibilities:
  • Partner with senior functional leaders across the organization to translate and identify immediate, short-term and long-term information needs and requirements
  • Translate big picture integrated data vision and functional line objectives to technical solutions and centralized operational services
  • Set platform strategies and evolution of enterprise data and analytical capabilities including shared services (i.e. central governance, data stewardship, operational leadership-resourcing-prioritization)
  • Establish sustainable practices and processes to ensure rapid access to critical functional and cross-functional data assets and equally rapid dissemination of findings, while managing potential risks and the misinterpretation and misuse of information
  • Deliver innovative solutions (machine learning, artificial intelligence, deep sequencing, advanced visualization, predictive analytics) that align with business needs (today and tomorrow) and create organizational value
  • Rapidly solve for immediate needs, while establishing longer term sustainable solutions and process
  • Own enterprise integrated data roadmap to model future state capabilities (what, how, who and when)
    • Champion strategic use of enterprise data and analytics to drive value, and build external relationships to bring innovative solutions to internal process and operations
    • Establish and evolve services and platforms as appropriate to accelerate adoption and value realization of emerging technologies including but not limited data science, natural language processing, content analytics, augmented reality, machine learning / artificial intelligence
    • Own the development of effective communication and training vehicles for other technology and business teams on platform services and roadmaps, and elevate skills-sets in adeptly executing advanced analytics
    • Plan for data driven external facing solutions (e.g. mobile) that drive commercial model and patient care
    • Become the internal expert with our information and data including MLS data, macro- and micro-economic data, consumer behavior and demographics and other value-added data that provides greater insights
  • Define common analytic platforms, central-shared ways of working (governance, best practices, standards) and operating practices to support enterprise analytic needs, and treat our enterprise data as a company asset
    • Establish and evolve services and platforms to accelerate adoption and value realization of emerging technologies with line stakeholders, and incorporate in the capability and technology roadmaps
    • Act as a thought leader on emerging data processing, aggregation, analysis, modeling, deep learning, business intelligence, and related technologies
    • Own end-to-end process (sourcing, standards, integration plan, etc.) for enterprise data management
    • Develop and run shared resources to provide operational leadership, project-portfolio management and enterprise data governance in support of integrated data analytics and informatics
  • Hands on lead the strategy, plan, build, and daily operation of technical solutions and centralized operational services in support of business needs
    • Establish and lead using good portfolio-program and project management techniques repeatable prioritization, planning and build out methodology to put into place central IT capabilities and process
    • Rollout sustainable services in support of sustainability, growth and protection of the company?s interests
    • Own and execute change management plans to effectively integrate enterprise capabilities into departmental activities
    • Build strategic relationships with external vendors to build and run solutions
    • Hire, develop, and mentor a high performance team and outsourced resources
    Other Functions:
    In this role, you may be required to support various functions of the business as new initiatives arise and as specific data intelligence is required in order to make critical business decisions including competitive evaluation, mergers & acquisitions, market expansion activities and other strategic endeavors.
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering
    • MBA or advanced degree highly desired
    • 15+ years working experience within IT in similar roles, of which 10 years experience has been in the real estate industry, leading global teams, leading leaders, managing complex IT programs, and driving cross-functional large-scale and complex technology introduction and innovation
    • 5+ years supporting data aggregation and management functions working with the complexities of real estate data
    • In-depth experience running enterprise technical solutions and non-technical operational services
    • Ability to manage global internal and external technical and non-technical resources
    • Demonstrated data and/or information thinking process and ways of working that can create value by exploiting and unlocking data insights on behalf of business teams
    • Knowledge of good architecture practices for data, analytics, informatics, reporting and systems integration
    • Hands-on experience in implementing modern integrated data analytics (business intelligence, data lake) solutions and underlying IT architectures and services
    • Able to be hands on to manipulate data using common IT tools
    • Demonstrated ability for strategic IT planning, innovation and roadmap development
    • Proven track record of appropriate risk taking and an aptitude for introducing positive disruption in business processes, technologies, and operational approaches (centralized and/or line function)
    • Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate and lead across a matrix organization
    • IT Security / Information Security / Regulation as related to data and information

    • Ability to wear multiple hats, and sort-out complex IT and business challenges with ease
    • Expert with information management practices, system development life cycle management, IT services management, operations, IT Security, and holistic Enterprise Architecture
    • Knowledge of business ecosystems, SaaS, infrastructure as a service (IaaS), platform as a service (PaaS), Service Oriented Architecture, APIs, open data, microservices, and custom development
    • Exposure and understanding of existing, new and emerging information technologies, and high scale data processing environments
    • Exceptional soft and interpersonal skills including teamwork, facilitation, organization, planning, communication (written and verbal), presentation, analytical, influencing and negotiation
    • Familiarity with graphical modelling approaches, tools and model repositories
    • Organizationally savvy, and understanding of the political climate of the enterprise and how to navigate obstacles and politics
