The UCSF Immunoprofiler Initiative is hiring motivated Data Scientists interested in applying and developing cutting-edge machine learning analytics to imaging and other high dimensional datasets, with the aim of discovering as-yet unknown patterns in human disease. Very proximal goals of this research include the discovery of new diagnostic and therapeutic modalities for cancer. Long-term lessons learned are also very likely to inform the diagnosis and treatment of multiple diseases. Immunoprofiler (immunoprofiler.org) is a large and dynamic campus-wide project which brings together experts in immunology, genomics, imaging, flow cytometry, and epidemiology with clinicians and data scientists. The incumbent is expected to be highly interactive, enjoys adapting existing algorithms, and seeks to develop new ones in collaboration with other members of the Immunoprofiler team. The Initiative has already collected a very rich dataset and built teams of motivated collaborators that the incumbent will join. Successful individuals will contribute to academic publications as well as insights that will alter disease treatment for patients with cancer and other diseases.
